     Archbishop John Privett

Archbishop John Privett grew up in Whitehorse, Yukon. He is married to Alida, who is a School Administrator and they have an adult daughter.

He holds degrees from the University of Saskatchewan (BA), The College of Emmanuel and St. Chad (M.Div), The University of Alberta (M.Ed.) and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary (D. Min).

Archbishop John was ordained deacon in 1981 and Priest in 1982 and has served parishes in Alberta and British Columbia.  He was ordained as Bishop on Sept. 17, 2005 and installed as Bishop of Kootenay at St. Michael and All Angels' Cathedral in Kelowna.  On September 25, 2009, the Provincial Electoral Synod elected him Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and Yukon.
